Songs About Birds, Because Harper Lee is Awesome

by ParentCo. February 03, 2015

Mix Tapes for Parents In the mid-1950s, Harper Lee wrote Go Set a Watchman. Never heard of it? Neither had anyone else, really, before today. Set in the 1950s, in the fictional Southern town of Maycomb, Scout returns from New York to visit her father, Atticus Finch. Lee shelved the book upon her editor's suggestion, and reworked some of the story's flashbacks into what the world would come to know as one of the most popular novels of all time: To Kill a Mockingbird. The manuscript, which was discovered last autumn by the author's friend and lawyer, Tonja Carter, will be published this July by Harper Collins and serve as a sequel to the best seller. Considering To Kill a Mockingbird has sold over 30 million copies, the 2 million initial print run likely won't last very long. In honor of this most exciting literary announcement: SONGS ABOUT BIRDS!
