One year old Sloan Henderson is the most adorable thing to happen to snowboarding since Jake Burton was young and single.
Through my own experiences raising little skiers, I've come to believe that alpine sports are a really great way for parents to spend thousands of dollars to yell at their kids outside in the cold.
But, oh, this kid -- the way she loves it, the way she smiles, the way she slaps her dad five -- has saved me from my spiraling cynicism.
Hearing her parents cheer her on is pretty great too. It sounds authentically joyful -- not the usual angry parent turned sideline ref stuff.
It's awesome. Watch it. Be happy.
My only question is: do they make Sloan-sized helmets?

As a family law attorney, I know that the families who thrive post-divorce are the ones that make compromises and think creatively about solving problems.
Setting goals allows kids to experience growth socially and emotionally by helping them develop self-regulation skills, gain responsibility and build confidence.
If I could offer advice to new moms embarking on the journey I’ve been on, I would tell them to cherish the moments, trust the foundation, and keep talking.
